Jenna Ortega has said goodbye to Wednesday Addams' braids — but not her iconic goth style.
On December 16, Jenna's hairstylist Dave Stanwell showed off the Netflix star's “fresh” wolf cut bob on Instagram, writing, "Today we did a thang ✂️.” Like the popular wolf cut that took over TikTok feeds in the summer of 2021, Stanwell gave Ortega some shaggy, wavy layers with shorter mullet-styled pieces in the front as well as some thick bangs. However, he gave the feral look a lighter feel by leaving the length of even the longest layers above Ortega's shoulders.
Jenna Ortega debuted the chop later in the evening during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wearing a completely sheer Dolce & Gabbana maxi dress with a metal corset belt over a black bra and matching briefs. The dress' white oxford collar, cuffs, and oversized black tie were the perfect Nevermore touch. She topped off the look with jewellery by Grace Lee and KatKim.
Though the ensemble clearly matches Wednesday's aesthetic, Jenna's stylist Enrique Melendez shared his inspiration on Instagram Stories with a photo of Madonna in a similar look from her 1992 “Erotica” music video.
Of course, the 20-year-old shared the look on her own Instagram for her 29.6 million followers. She also paid homage to her character's trending goth makeup with thick winged liner with the perfect amount of smudge. “Joan Jett,” one user commented, while her Wednesday costar Hunter Doohan wrote, “OMG HELP 🔥.”
Her makeup artist, Vincent Oquendo (@makeupvincent on Instagram), described her beauty look as a “blue black smokey winged eyeliner” – and if you look closely you can see a hint of metallic navy pigment. Gorge.
Frankly, I vote she keeps this look for Wednesday season two.
